Kani Lapuerta (he/him) is a trans filmmaker and researcher with a PhD in Visual Arts. His debut feature, Niñxs (2025), premiered in the International Competition at Visions du Réel and has been screened and awarded at leading international film festivals. Rooted in documentary practice, his work explores collaborative and community-based filmmaking to amplify queer and trans narratives. He is a member of Traviesas, the first Latin American transfeminist community film network.
