
Violeta Ayala (we) is a filmmaker, creative technologist, and the first Quechua member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Notable works include the VR animation Prison X (2021), Cocaine Prison (2017), The Bolivian Case (2015), and Stolen (2009). Her films have premiered at major festivals and earned more than 50 awards—and have helped secure disability pensions in Bolivia. Currently, Ayala is co-creating an immersive installation using augmented reality and AI, called “Las Awichas,” including a Jaguaress filmmaker feminist robot.
